Lisa Smith, Fairfax Associates
Lisa advises firms both in the US and globally on strategy, merger, governance and management and partnership issues. Lisa has worked with many firms on partner performance and compensation, alignment of compensation metrics, and compensation of law firm leaders.
Kristin Stark, Fairfax Associates
Kristin advises firms on strategy development and implementation, organizational structure, financial management, and partner compensation. Kristin has experience implementing significant compensation system changes and serves on partner Compensation Committees for several clients.
William Johnston, Fairfax Associates (affiliated partner)
Bill assists law firms on strategic, financial, organizational and leadership issues. Earlier in his career, Bill was Director of Strategic Planning at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP and a Vice President of Hildebrandt International.
Brian Donnelly, Managing Partner, Farella Braun + Martel
Brian is the Managing Partner of Farella, recently appointed to serve his second term. Prior to becoming Managing Partner, Brian served on the firm’s Advisory Board and in other firm leadership roles. Brian is a tax lawyer and is based in San Francisco.
Margot Edwards, Management Committee Member, Holland & Hart
Margot serves as on Holland & Hart’s Management Committee (also the Compensation Committee) and served on the firm’s Strategic Planning Committee in 2019. Margot is a lawyer in the firm’s tax and estate planning practice area and is based in the Boulder office.
Gina Kastel, Executive Partner, Faegre Drinker
Gina serves as Executive Partner of Faegre Drinker and before that was the vice chair and chief operating partner of FaegreBD. She co-led the Compensation Committee in the recent merger discussions. Gina is a health care lawyer based in the firm’s Minneapolis office.
Deborah Read, Managing Partner and CEO, Thompson Hine
Debbie is the Managing Partner and Chief Executive Officer of Thompson Hine and chair of the firm’s Executive Committee, the principal governing body responsible for the firm’s strategic direction, financial affairs and the oversight of operations. She is a tax and health care lawyer and is based in Cleveland.
Ken Van Winkle, Managing Partner, Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie
Ken is the Managing Partner of Lewis Roca and has served in his role since 2004. Prior to being selected as the firm’s Managing Partner, Ken served on the firm’s Executive Committee and in other firm leadership capacities. Ken is a real estate lawyer based in the firm’s Phoenix office.

Program Fee: $1,095 per attendee
10% discount applied for registration paid 6 weeks before event.

Program fee includes program attendance, all program materials, breakfast, lunch and beverage breaks.

Cancellations are accepted and fees will be refunded if notice is received 6 weeks before event. All fees must be paid 1 week before event. Substitutions are welcome.

If for any reason the workshop is cancelled a full refund of fees will be made but Fairfax Associates will not be responsible for travel, hotel or other costs incurred by recipients.
